Please make sure your child has gloves, hat, and a coat.  We will be going outside for recess!!

 Here is what we are working on !

Writing:  We are working on composing friendly letters.  We have each chosen a subject to recieve our letter that may, or may not be real.  Some of ust are writing to elves, aliens, even Santa Claus.  So far, we have written our rough drafts.  Next, we will use revision and editing process and then finalize our letters by Friday.

Social Studies: We have begun our study of the Northeast.  Our study will include a brief overview of the US government structure, as well as covering the concepts of geography, climate, resources, and culture. 

 Math: We have begun to move into higher level reasoning concepts such as algebra and geometry.  Students will be required to apply these new math concepts to "real world" situations.  Reading comprehension and problem solving will come heavily into play. 

Reading:  We are working in our first novel: Call it Courage . Students will respond to guided reading questions in their reading journals.  All grades for reading will come from the student's work in the journal. 



Current Events:  Each student has received a copy of the current events assignment and received their presentation date.  Please check the Current Event Assignment and Current Events Criteria pages of this web-site for full details.
